• Armour designs are available for Hino 300 and Isuzu N series trucks, the Isuzu F and Hino 500 series, the UD Quon and for Mercedes Benz Actros and Axor.
• The drivers cab of the vehicle is armoured internally by means of a prefabricated capsule, providing ballistic protection against Kalashnikov AK47 assault rifles when chambered with 39mm ball ammunition (Euronorm Standard En1063 Level B4+). Higher levels of ballistic protection can be supplied although it may require a stronger truck chassis to carry the extra weight.
• The original windscreen is replaced with flat bullet resistant glass and anti-spall material, glazed into an armour frame which is fitted into the original windscreen space. Gun ports can be included in the design.
• The armoured drivers cab is equipped with a hydraulically operated lift ram for tilting the cab, to access the engine compartment.
• For a typical valuables in-transit operation, a separate armoured rear body is mounted behind the cab of the vehicle directly onto the chassis.
• For larger vehicles that transport high value bulk cargo such as courier or FMCG operations, the load body is not usually armoured as it detracts severely from the usable payload. Anti-tamper covers are available to prevent unauthorised opening of the rear doors.
